Studies of genetic and fossil findings show, these fish have been living on the earth at least since 220 million years ago, so it could be said this ancient fish.
Arowana is the most expensive ornamental fish and is recognized as one of the most beautiful ornamental fish in the world. This ancient fish can reach the age between 30-90 years in the wild. Some Arowana species included in the IUCN as endangered species. Similarly, the CITES includes Super Red Arowana in Appendix I as an animal that should not be sold except from breeding results shown by a breeding certificate.
